Dr. Anuradha Bansal has done MBBS from GMCH, Chandigarh (batch 2000). She was a meritorious student all through, winning gold and silver medals in various subjects. She did her post graduation in Pediatrics from the same institute (2006-2009). During this period, her thesis was selected for the IJP best thesis award. Following this, she went on to pursue her senior residency in Pediatrics from Maulana Azad Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi to polish her clinical skills under senior Pediatricians like Professor Siddarth Ramji, Prof Sangeeta Yadav and Prof Urmila Jhamb (2009-2012). She did her fellowship in neonatology from GMCH, Chandigarh (2012-2013). Currently, she is working as Associate Professor in the department of Pediatrics at PIMS, Jalandhar.
She is involved in the care of critically sick newborns including preterm, extremely low birth weight babies , babies with birth asphyxia and seizures. Some of them are now as old as 4 years and a part of mainstream schooling. To satisfy her everlasting thirst for knowledge, she became a member of Royal College of Pediatrics and Child health (MRCPCH), UK. She is the national trainer for advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation program) and BLS (Basic life support) instructor. She has also trained for pediatric infectious diseases and pediatric airway workshops under the aegis of IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics). By the virtue of her experience, she has organized NRP & BLS courses for doctors and nurses at PIMS and delivered enriching talks on various topics related to Child Health. And, the quest is ongoing
Academically, Dr. Anuradha Bansal has published many papers both case reports and original research. She has written chapters in Mathur’s Essential Neonatology and IAP protocols in neonatology. A few of her textbook chapters and research projects are underway.
She loves to learn new skills as they come her way. She has learnt Latin American dancing from Mrs. Rashmi Sabherwal (Mrs. India 2018 contestant). She has learnt Digital Marketing from the doyen, Deepak Kanakraju, scoring amongst his top 100 interns.
On the personal front, she is a doting mom to two sons and tries to manage home and work front with equal responsibility. As she had lots of queries during this journey of motherhood and academics, which largely remained unanswered, she has started her own blog to share her experiences and views which might be helpful to others.
